Serbia police search for Croatian Serb fugitive sought by UN war crimes tribunal

The UN International Criminal Tribunals: The Former Yugoslavia, Rwanda and Sierra Leone Serbia police search for Croatian Serb fugitive sought by UN war crimes tribunal: "Serbian police are searching three locations as part of efforts to capture Goran Hadzic, one of the two remaining fugitives sought by a U.N. war crimes court.
Interior Minister Ivica Dacic says the searches were launched early Thursday northwest of Belgrade. He gave no other details.
Serbia must arrest Hadzic and genocide suspect Ratko Mladic if it wants to move closer to EU membership. The chief U.N. war crimes prosecutor for the former Yugoslavia Serge Brammertz visited this week to check progress on the issue.
Former Croatian Serb leader Hadzic is wanted by the court in The Hague, Netherlands, for atrocities in the Croatian war, while wartime Bosnian Serb commander Mladic is accused of orchestrating the 1995 massacre of 8,000 Muslims in Srebrenica."
